The midfielder has a big fan
Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has revealed that he’d love to sign Barcelona midfielder Ilkay Gundogan for his team.
Gundogan joined Barcelona last season on a free transfer from Manchester City and has gone on to become a regular for the Catalans.
Yet Ozbek has told Turkish media that he would be happy to have the Germany international in his team.
“We need to sign about three players to compete in the Champions League. Maybe it’s time to try to complete my dream signing: Ilkay Gündogan,” he explained.
The chances of Gundogan moving on after just one season at Barcelona seem pretty remote despite the interest from the Galatasaray chief.
Gundogan looks set to play a key role for Barcelona again next season, particularly following the arrival of new boss Hansi Flick. The two have worked together previously for the Germany national team so know each other very well.
