Truro City show off their new Cornwall stadium after years of groundshares and fans are excited to finally return to where they belong.
In March 2023, following the scrapping of the Stadium for Cornwall, Truro City extend of their groundshare deal at Plymouth Parkway for the 2023–24 season, only for it to be cut-short in February 2024, with regular postponements at Bolitho Park, so Truro had to arrange a groundshare until the end of the season with Taunton Town, but then they had pitch issues in March, so announced the club would play the remainder of the 2023–24 season at Gloucester City’s Meadow Park.
They’re now eagerly waiting to play their first match at the new stadium, with local residents, fans, groundhoppers all looking forward to checking the out.
Football in Cornwall is grabbing everyone’s attention. We have more teams from the county climbing the non league pyramid. Truro in the 6th tier, Mousehole, Falmouth Town and Helston Athletic in the 8th tier with the latter two winning promotion to the Southern League Division One South at the end of the 2023/24 season. Exciting times and well worth a visit.

In May 2024, Truro City’s executive chairman provided an update on the club’s progress in appointing a new manager, and the move to Langarth.
MAY 5TH UPDATE:
Since vacating Treyew Road in January 2021, the club have led a nomadic existence and despite not having a permanent home venue, have secured promotion to National League South and survival at Step Two of the National League System.
Construction work on the club’s new facility is nearly complete, in preparation for Truro’s return to the Duchy for the 2024-25 season.
The seated ‘North Stand’ structure has been completed with all seats, clad in the club’s traditional colours of red and black, have been installed.
Standing facilities behind the eastern goal (covered) are now in place, along with perimeter fences for the playing area, hard standing all around the pitch and mens, ladies and disabled toilets sited.
The floodlights are now installed on four corners of the pitch and are fully operational, having passed all required tests.
Works on the playing surface will be completed this coming week, with the first grass cut within the next month despite Cornwall recording one of its wettest winter and early spring periods since records began.
The club will provide supporters with updates on the finishing touches of the new facility throughout the off-season, as we close in on the finishing line for the club’s journey back to the Duchy.
We thank each and every supporter for their patience and unwavering support for Truro City over the past three years.
MAY 22ND UPDATE:
I want to start out by wishing Paul Wotton all the best at Torquay United and I think he will do a great job there. The feat that we achieved of staying up, with so many matches in a row without respite last season, with the congested fixture schedule, put the club on everyone’s radar and Paul’s too.
It was of no surprise that someone came in for him so soon after the season ended, but we roll with the punches. He did a great job for us and it is only well wishes for him, but the show for Truro City must go on.
We are in a serious hunt for a new manager and there has been a lot of interest and a lot of really exciting interest. Hopefully, we can give a further update with some great news soon.
At the new ground, which I visited in person last week, the seats are shiny and the grass is green – it is so exciting to see it come up. I went to the ground in March and there was a lot of dirt, but now it looks like a ground.
I couldn’t be anymore pumped up about it as it will be a lovely spot to watch football and it is what Cornwall deserves.
Phase two of the ground is almost complete with beautiful seated and standing stands. It will be the best pitch in Cornwall by a country mile and one of the best outside of the Football League.
The new venue will be fan-geared because we want the fans to have a great time. The food will be great, drinks and whatever you want. If you are going to come to Truro City to spend your money, we want to provide you with a great day out.
It is our responsibility to provide that and we will provide that.
Footballs coming home and it will be home because Truro City had a nomadic existence before we took over.
Finally, we want to build a strong foundation in the community and to create a clear pathway from under-7s to the first team.
We want Truro City to become an all encompassing club and not just a team.

@NW10boy: If the fixtures are kind I’m definitely making the long trip to Cornwall from Bucks. I went to Treyew Road in Easter 2008 & loved it there. I even got given a shirt which I still have having made the trip from Belgium as I attended a race there the previous day.
