Hull City have fans in hysterics with video to announce their new manager

Hull City have fans in hysterics with video to announce their new manager in Tim Walter, as replacement for Liam Rosenior.

The 48 year old German has signed a three year deal and will officially take over on the 1st of July, subject to obtaining a visa.

Tim Walter is former Bayern Munich youth and reserve team coach who’s most recently guided Hamburg to successive third place finishes in the Bundesliga 2.

CLUB STATEMENT:

Hull City are delighted to confirm the appointment of Tim Walter as the club’s new head coach.

The 48-year-old German has signed a three-year deal and will officially take over at the MKM Stadium on 1 July, subject to obtaining a visa.

An innovative coach with a high-octane, possession-orientated style of play, Walter has managed almost 200 matches in his homeland and boasts a win ratio of 50.25%, averaging nearly two goals per game.

Hull City Chairman Acun Ilıcalı said: “Tim was always our first choice. We had many strong applicants and wanted to be thorough in our recruitment process, but it quickly became clear that Tim was the outstanding candidate.

“Our discussions were detailed and productive in planning for this season and I am encouraged about how we can work together to the benefit of our club.

“I believe in Tim’s philosophy and in doing so, I am hopeful that over the forthcoming season he can continue our positive progress and upward trajectory. I wish him the very best of luck!”

The former Bayern Munich youth and reserve team coach guided Hamburg to successive third-place finishes in Bundesliga 2, with Die Rothosen scoring 202 goals during his two-and-a-half-year tenure.

He previously managed Holstein Kiel and Stuttgart in Germany’s second tier and spent a decade with Karlsruher’s academy, earning a reputation throughout his career for his attacking philosophy.

The make-up of Walter’s backroom staff will be confirmed in due course.

Tim Walter will be sponsored by Evans & Co Chartered Certified Accountants for the 2024/25 season.

HSV board member Jonas Boldt said on Tim Walter back in February: “Tim and his boys have lived our HSV, fully identified with the task and the club and played a key role in shaping the path we have taken.

“With his energy and conviction, Tim has also taken on far more tasks than is usual for a head coach. Our sincere thanks go to him, Jule and Tapa for this.

“They are always welcome guests in the Volkspark.”

Boldt informed the coaching team of the decision personally with Tim Walter sad but composed: “I would have liked to have continued to contribute to achieving our goal for the season together.

“I would like to thank HSV, the office and the extraordinary fans for more than two and a half years of great cooperation.

“I wish the team and the club maximum success for the rest of the season.”
